ImageScholar, an academic consulting company, is seeking strong VERBAL (English Language Arts) and MATH TUTORS in the Torrance, Cerritos, and Carson areas to work with middle school and high school students.
•Prospective Verbal tutors must have strong Critical Reading and Writing Skills.A strong background in English Language and/or English Literature is highly desired.
•Prospective math tutors should be knowledgeable in math up to the pre-Calculus level. Knowledge of Calculus is highly desired.
•Prior teaching and/or tutoring experience is highly desirable.
•ISEE, AP, SAT I, and/or SAT II test-preparation experience is a big plus
The pay for this position is $25/hour. This is a PART-TIME job taking up to 2-4 hours/week. Tutoring generally occurs during late afternoons and evenings.
You must be able to commit for six months and must have a schedule which allows you to commit to seeing a student at the SAME time every week. You must love to work with teenagers.
All sessions are one-on-one and take place in the student’s home.
You must live in the geographic location in which you would like to tutor or be willing to drive there. Mileage will not be reimbursed.
