I'm posting this mostly out of curiosity because I have a job interview in LA next week and I'm investigating different ideas for relocation. For starters, I don't know the first thing about the area. I don't know what the commute is like, what neighborhoods I'd enjoy, or even what's realistic to pay for rent. No doubt I could spend the next month staying in hotels, investigating neighborhoods, looking for a roommate, researching online and pinging everyone I meet on what to expect. It's killing me because it seems like there should be a less complicated way to do this. Then it hits me. Why not just buy an RV? I started looking around and found several under 10K that are self contained and probably larger than any room or studio I could find. A quick google shows at least one rv park that's $650/mth which is already cheaper than most of the rooms I've found. The idea is starting to grow on me. So here's my question. Is there anyone out there willing to split the cost of living in an RV? Yeah, I know it'd be cozy and a little weird to be sharing a small space with a stranger but it could be fun with the right personality fit. It also looks to be a crazy good deal if done the right way. The chances are good I'll be offered this position which means I'll be relocating in three weeks. Ping me if you're interested. Thanks.
